No way of reversing an opt-out still?

Hi,

Just want to check this is still the case (taken from the Q&A's):

Q: Can email opt-outs be reversed?

A: An email recipient that opts out of Online Express emails can opt back in anytime by simply signing up to receive emails via the organization’s Online Express email signup form. While the organization can uncheck the “requests no email” box that Online Express checks on an opted-out constituent’s record in Raiser's Edge, Online Express will still honor the recipient’s original opt-out request.


If still the case - is Blackbaud likely to change their position on this anytime soon?

    Blackbaud can't change their position on this.  It's a federal law that you can't continue to send to an address that has opted-out or been unsubscribed.  However, if the owner of the email address signs up again with that email address & confirms the sign up, the address goes back on the list.  I just tested this tonight.


    Online Express, to my knowledge, is not affected by the Requests No Email checkbox...unless you include that in the Criteria in the Queries that generate your OLX Lists.

    I'm unclear on this - I opted out of receving emails just to test our system and now I want to put my own email account back in, but cannot see how!  How do I find "the organization’s Online Express email signup form"?

    Use the Sign Up Form that you've placed somewhere on your org's website.  You'll get a confirmation email that you need to click on, and then you'll see your name pop up in OLX when you download new Sign Ups.  Once you download yours, you'll be back on the lists.
