How can I find out how many people did not open our emails in the last 6 months?

Options
Hi,

Is there a report that I can run that will give me the number of people who have on opened our emails in the last 6 months? We would like to use that information to decide what to do next with our data.

Thanks!

    Hi Marnee,

You can run an Email > Messages report in Report Writer. Select all (or desired) campaigns and add a filter of Email Performance Statistics > Send End Date (or Start Date) and then either a predefined range or custom range.

Once you run the report, you'll have to do a bit of reverse engineering, as it will show you the number of emails sent and the number openend, but if you download the report, you should be able to use Excel or another spreadsheet program to retreave the data you are looking for.

Hi Marnee, there are a few KnowledgeBase articles that point the way. You should set up Engagement Factors to count up Email Opens (and other actions) to gain knowledge about your constituents' level of engagement. This article provides step-by-step instructions for a specific model - I encourage you to implement this and then tweak it if needed to match your organization's business practices.  https://kb.blackbaud.com/articles/Article/94767

Luminate Online offers tools that allow administrators to gauge and act on their most engaged constituents.  Emailing all constituents regardless of their activity results in poor deliverability and bad mailer reputations due to stale email addresses. Emailing addresses that are invalid (fakeaddress@gmail.com), inactive, or consistently soft bounce will earn you a bad reputation amongst various Email Service Providers, such as Hotmail, Comcast and Verizon, etc.

The first step to segmenting your housefile is to establish a baseline of constituents that definitely want to hear from you.  You can create a group of your disengaged constituents and contact them to verify which users in this audience can move into your engaged constituent group.

    1. Go to Data Management > select Tasks  [...]

See also "How does email work in all of its forms in Luminate Online Marketing?" https://kb.blackbaud.com/articles/Article/67993 and try searching in the Knowledgebase as you work through this to see if other articles may be helpful.

Please report back to let us know what you end up doing. Good luck!
