Dynamically pulling event name to subject lines

Options
Hi All,

Wondering which s-tag you guys are using to add the event name dynamically to the subject line for autoresponder, milestone, coaching emails & suggested messages? I've tried using [[S42:0:title]] on autoresponder, but it only renders during preview, but not working for the real thing. The S120 works for Coaching email preview, but I have not tested the senario irl.

For the suggested messages however, neither S42 or S120 are working.

Thanks for your help!

  • For Event Title, you could use the S47 in similar fashion like below  - replace the XXXXX with your Teamraiser FRID or your blueprint FRID (if you are using a blueprint, and LO would convert the ID automatically to the child event of that blueprint whenever you make a child event from it)

    [[S47:XXXXX:fr_info:1:event_title]]

    note:
    • I haven't really use it on Subject Line -- but worth a try in case. However it should works from within your email body  (i.e. TR autoresponder)
    • I am aware of the 0 usage -- not big proponent of it as there was a glitch in past of which LO doesn't convert that to the associated FRID, but the real FRID works so far.
    regards,

    Daniel

    ADD ON EDIT:
    • I don't think Teamraiser Suggested Messages takes S-tag, it has never been.

Thanks so much Daniel, but I tired with S47, still not rendering in the subject line. For the email body tho, S42 and S47 both works. Any other thoughts?

From what I've seen, blueprint ID doesn't convert itself in the envelop settings, only in the message body. At the moment, the only bulletproof way is to hard-code.

BB has been working on the 0 bug, but the only useful fix I've found has been the fr-id param. Have you tried [[E42:[[S42:0:fr-id]]:title]] ? I know for sure that [[E47:[[S42:0:fr-id]]:fr_info:1:coordinator_name]] works in the envelope for coaching emails, so I'd expect 42 would work for the same reason. I haven't tested it with autoresponders, and like Daniel said, suggested messages can't use S tags.

By the way, I'm guessing you already know this, but just in case it helps someone else reading...S42 grabs from the TR's base settings whereas S47 just grabs individual page settings (basically C1 tags... fr_info:1:event_title is the greeting page's title field). S42 is generally more reliable because S47 settings can be left empty, so check and make sure that field isn't empty if you go that route.

Oh, one other thing; it looks like the autoresponders are actually two different software systems on the same page. Those that are immediately triggered don't seem to suffer from any :0: bugs, but the ones that are scheduled for 4/14/21 days have the same bug that coaching emails have.

Thanks Jeremy. I've confirmed with someone at Blackbaud, that at the current stage, it is impossible to dynamically pulling event names in the subject line (yeah....somewhat disappointing since frontstream always had that option).

    Thanks for all your helps!
