Any way to schedule constituent query totals?

Options
These is another of those "seems simple" problems...

Is there any way to schedule an email or printed report that gives a simple count of alumni on a scheduled basis?  I would like to begin to track (on the first of each month) a few numbers such as:  Alumni of Record, Living Alumni, Alumni with Email, Alumni with Business Address, etc.

I can create the consitutent queries for these things easily.  But I can't seem to find anyway to simply print or email out that resulting total

Things I've tried (and failed at):
  • Printing Query totals: nope! can only Export and Refresh queries. And you can't export a query with no fields (just want the total, not 50,000 names)
  • Printing a Pivot Report for each: great, but can't schedule Pivot Reports with Queue
  • Create a custom report: sounds great, but Queue can't run custom reports from our RE server
  • Canned Report: Sounds easy... but every canned report either focuses on donors or prints out every single name in the query.
Any other ideas?

If there is no query output, you can actually print the query totals by pressing the little printer icon on the toolbar.

Printing query totals: make the query static without output fields and you'll get just the total

Canned report: under Demographic and Statistical reports, create a new Tallies report.

Maybe either of these will work for you.

  • Ahh, the Tallies canned Report!  Totally overlooked that one... Thank you!  That should work with what I need.

We'd be willing to pay to get a solution that allows us to schedule reports and queries without the flakiness of Queue.
