Rating scale on surveys

Options

We want to have a survey question in which the user rates the choices 1-5. I figure that the rating scale option would do it, but that just puts a radio button on the screen. Any ideas?

  • This might be a silly question, but did you fill in the Possible Responses for the rating scale question type with the number ratings each on their own line?

It seems the rating scale question is the same as Multiple Choice Single Response (Radio Buttons) question.

I was hoping for a real Rating Scale where you could put in an item to rate and then check the value you wanted to rate it as.

    Here is an example: http://www.snapsurveys.com/worksheets/worksheet_065/q4_rating_scale.png

At this point we have to ask each item to rate individually which makes the survey extremely long and I am sure makes our survey takers abandon the survey.

You can still achieve the approach from your screenshot, it will just take some added effort.  After you create the survey with all the items added individually, view the source of the page and copy the code block for the entire <form>.  Paste the code somewhere else, then style and re-organize the fields however you like.

So this was posted three years ago and still no valid response? We're having the same issue, the rating option is simply acting as a single choice radio button, not a field to add numerical rankings

    Howdy Nick!

I did some digging and found the "rating scale" option in the list of question types for surveys. I created a simply question with a scale of 1 to 5, and attached is how that question looks to the end user. Is this what you're after? As previously mentioned, you can edit the html to get the desired look and feel you need. Hope this helps.
