Appeal Packages: Unable to delete

Options
Hi All,

I created an appeal a while ago for an online campaign we were conducting. I initially created a package of 'Stripe' (for those that donated through Stripe!) but then discovered that I needed to split the packages differently. I went into every single gift and changed the package from Stripe to another one.

Now that we have come to the end of the campaign, I am running reports and despite changing every gifts package still have 16 gifts showing up under the 'Stripe' package with a value of $0.00. When I try to delete the package it tells me it can't because one or more records are associated with it! UGH!

Anyone come across this problem and/or have a way to solve it? it's confusing the managers I'm giving my reports to!

Thank you in advance! Carley.

  • Did you Assign that Appeal & Package to any Constituent Records?  Could it be that the report is then pulling off the Constituent Assignment instead of the Gift Record?

No Split Gifts or Adjustments to deal with?

I'm not sure what else it could be...other than a Support Case...  =(

  • Eeeeeeeek.  I have this happen sometimes!  Something is still tied to that piece of data!

You're going to have to run queries to figure out where that piece is, and why it's still attached.  :(

Hint: Check BOTH Constituent and Gift Records - I tend to find that data overlaps in those categories and people remember to change the details on the one, but not the other.  Example - there is a Constituent Constituent Code, AND a Gift Constituent Code!  I had dozens of gifts pulling with a Prospect Constituent Code and I was so frustrated because I didn't have any Constituent Code for that Prospect Type.  Changed my query from Constituent to Gift.... *clouds open, harp music plays*  there were all these GIFTS from 2009 with a Prospect Code!  Once I cleaned that up, I was able to delete the Prospect code entirely!

    Good luck!
  • Additionally, I just thought of this tip!

When you are in Config - Tables, go to Table Cleanup/Replace Entries - the right side of the window will tell you what Fields are attached to that Table!

That should give you some hints as to what and where you are Querying :)
