Online Express user manual?

Is there an online express user manual? We just started using it and I just found out that you have to go in there and download the donations. I did that but they are not showing up in the constituents record.

Hi Tracy, Try these Customer Success Videos  specifically the Downloading Transactions video. My guess is that you still need to go through and commit the batch in Raiser's Edge and then they will show up on the constituent record. I hope these help!

Thanks Michelle, I did commit the batches. Is there a lag time?

It's something I've asked about before, because it's strange there isn't one. I know it's changing quicklybut some of us would like a bit more detail.

  • Hi Tracy and Matthew, Check out the Online Express How-To Material here.

I think this is pretty close to a user manual experience.

    Hi Michele,

It's great that BB does these videos and offers a few FAQ and the like, but I personally don't think they're comparable with the manuals that BB produce for the majority of the parts of the system. For example the Mail Guide is 268 pages long. As useful as the videos are you just don't get that level of detail in a 3 minute video. Plus I think they also meet different needs. The videos are good for people getting used to the basics of the system, or an overview - indeed I wish that they were available for more parts of RE - but if you're hitting a specific problem or trying to figure out something a bit more complicated, sometimes having something like this to read and re-read the relevant paragraph or two is just the thing.

    Thanks

  • Plus, if you happen to not have speakers or headphones at your desk, the video isn't quite as useful.  And you have to watch the whole video thru to find (hopefully) the information you're looking for.  I like the videos, but as Matthew said, they seem better suited as an overview than as a user guide.  It also seems that updates would be far easier to make in a printed document rather than a video.

I had to find information in one video then share it with a coworker.  So I sent her the link to the video and instructions to watch from one timecode to another.  She had to request speakers from our IT dept in order to hear the video.
