Building gift acknowledgement letters into crystal

I am building our gift acknowledgement letters into Crystal and I have hit a glitch and I am hoping there is some Raiser's Edge brainiac out there that can help me out!


We print the pledge balance on our pay-cash letters using the canned gift ack letters in RE and I am trying to do the same thing in our Crystal version. My glitch is that there seems to be no common link between a pay-cash and the pledge itself so when I export pledge balances I have no way to link them to the letter of the payment.  I have gone through Case Central but they couldn't help.


If the canned ack letter can link them then there is a way, I just need to find it.  Since the canned ack letter exports into word only I can't open up an example in Crystal to see what formulas they are using.


So my question is, does anybody know how to link the appropriate pledge balance to the pay-cash payment??  frown

    The link as it exports is the pledge (Gf) to the installment (GfIns_1) to the payment (GfIns_1Py_1) to the gift (GfIms_1Py_1Gf).  Does that help you at all?  Can you work backwards from there?

    this.  I am going to look into this today; I may not need to
    link to the gift balance if I total the installments balances
    instead.
