defining quarters in a fund through a query

Hi,

My first question for the community - yeah! So, as Researcher, I'm also performing fund analysis for hopefully some predictive modeling.

I am comparing quarters between fiscal years to try to figure out if annual fund challenges changed donor behavior from year to year - i.e. they gave during the November challenge so they didn't give in the following April as they usually do. Would appreciate tips of how-to in RE7 or RE NXT. I have access to Analyze as well.

I love these Discussions and access to the Community. A lot of other users seem to have the same ?s as myself.

It actually sounds like you need to use a canned Analysis Report rather than Query. It will allow for Year-Over-Year as well as restricting to only certain date ranges, campaigns and appeals (if you want it to). I feel like you'd want to either use the Comparative Report or the Consecutive Giving Report. :)

oh and yes! you can create an output query BASED on your Report results so you actually would have a query at the end of it all! :)
