Honor/Memorial Acknowledgement Letters

Options
Hello all! I'm attempting to redo the way we send honor/memorial acknowledgement letters and I'm running into a road block. My plan is to create the template in Mail for a 5 x 8.5" notecard that will have a short message and up to three names and addresses of those who have given that month. From my chats with RE having the names listed is possible by pulling the acknowledgee Name field but not the addresses. Not 100% convinced it's not possible so I figured I would reach out to all of you.

Just to recap: this is for a memorial scholarship. I'm sending one notecard to the father of the person the memorial was made in honor of listing the three donors names and addresses. I've attempted to do this as a standard letter, through the mail function and export and mail merge into word outside of RE but no luck.

Has anyone attempted this and had any luck?

I use query and export for this. I find the tribute donors in the query and then use an export in the format of a Word Merge file and merge the document outside of RE. You can probably do it right in RE too using the export format of  a Blackbaud Simple Word Merge. The acknowledgee address fields are available in export.

Thanks Karen! Have you been able to merge more than one donor to the same letter? I think that's the main issue I'm running into. I'd like to be able to send one letter with multiple donors listed to cut down on the same letter going out with different donor names / addresses.

Yes, use the Directory type in a mail merge.

Well. Color me impressed. I hadn't thought about this.
