TeamRaiserParticipant eCommerce Purchace

Options
Avon 39 uses eCommerce with TeamRaiser in a different way than having them connected via fundraising. A participant who is staying at the hotel and not camping with us overnight can purchase a $20 shuttle bus pass via an eCommerce Store.

Our current model is 1:1 store to TeamRaiser event. Using "external identifier for the product" we can assign the TeamRaiser fr_id, which we've liked but we'd like to see if we can add the participant's race number stored at the purchase level within eCommerce. Participants can purchase multiple tickets - ie someone can buy a few for their team - but we'd like to get a closer understanding of the characteristics of participants who purchase shuttle bus pass without doing convoluted email match-ups.

I tried adding product details, but those are hopelessly static.

So I think I've come to an answer, but would appreciate other opinions.

Add a hidden survey to the TY page that captures participant race number, quantity purchased, fr_id, store_id, cons id and the transaction id.

Any other ideas?

  • Haven't really use the race number generation, but was thinking about the use of ticketted event component which you can "tie" to a teamraiser. The ticketted event has that build question component, which probably you could add a hidden input that could read URL parameter (i.e. to grab the race number etc) -- wildly brainstorming, but anyway probably this thread would help with ideas if not.. https://community.blackbaud.com/forums/viewtopic/1/28610?post_id=104057#p104057

  • The use of eCommerce is a compromise in and of itself with the internal Finance team. but I could float ticketed Events.

You can hide lots of stuff there.

    Thanks, Daniel!

You can also repurpose the honor/memorial tribute fields on the product to capture extra data in ecom.
  • Brian, do you mean the Tribute fields?

    Hm. Interesting.

Can those be hidden on the Autoresponder?
  • Yes, exactly.

You can set the field labels, and you get a variety of field types. I've only used them visible on the form in the past, so I haven't tried to hide them in the autoresponder. I'm not sure they even show on the AR. If you buy 20 items, I don't think the AR shows all 20 sets of tribute fields.
