Global Change to remove Addressee/Sal for Org Contact

I'm wondering if anyone has devised a solution to delete specific Addressee/Salutations found the General 2 tab for the contact at an organization?


We have one Addressee/Salutation type which is merely a duplicate of another option, and I've been able to delete it from Individual records.  But I couldn't delete the Addr/Sal Type because it is still in use.  I created a query to look if it is in use on Relationships>Contacts>Addressee/Salutations/Specific... and there I find 2,500+ instances of this Addressee/Salutation.


I couldn't manipulate Global Change to do the job.  As best I could come up with, if I use import, I could create an export file, rewrite the field to be blank (^), and import it.  But then I still cannot delete the addressee/sal which sits on the relationship.

    The KB article will take it off of the individual record, but when there is a contact on an organization record, it won't remove it there.


    This article was my guide when starting, but when I couldn't delete the Addr/Sal Type I discovered there was more.

    Wish I had a solution for you Chris.  The lack of global change and/or global add functions when it comes to contact add/sal is definitely a negative.  Have had missing data for contacts since we converted. 


    Yes, KB suggestion is just for the constituent record, not relationships.
