MobileCause Insights

Options
Hi All!

We are currently in the process of finding more out about the MobileCause product and were hoping to find out more about it's ease of use, connection with Raiser's and any other insights a current (or past) user can give us.  We have gone thru the demo with a sales person and have presented it to our Director of Development but we are now in need of insider info from any non profits.

We are a Human/Social Services organization with a budget around $3M located near Chicago, IL with a Development staff of 5 people.  Our Director would like to gain information from anyone who fits any of that criteria but we are, of course, more than willing to hear from ANYONE who has experience using the MobileCause product.

Any feedback would be fantastic and I would be happy to connect with you outside of this forum to discuss further.

Thank you all so much!!

  • We're a very similarly-size women's foundation in Dallas. We just implemented MobileCause in October, and had to add Importomatic (IO) to make it work properly. Of the two tools, I don't think MobileCause was worth the money, but Importomatic has great opportunities for impact to our workflow around events (Eventomatic will be our next addition).

If your Communications Marketing team stays really busy with MC, then it might be a moneymaker for you. But you need lots of activity to make it an efficient use of your staff time. Even with IO, you want to be processing 10-20 gifts at a time (daily?) to make it fast and efficient.

You can have your RE administrator call me if you wish.

  • Susan,

Thank you so much for your reply.  Your issues with efficiency and use of Importomatic is very useful.  Is your organization using MobileCause for general fundraising specifically?  Have you used it for event fundraising at all?  Fundraising during an event?

Just want to make sure that we are getting a full picture of your use of the product.

Thanks again for your quick response!

  • Hi Christyn and Susan,

We are looking into using MobileCause and are also wondering about any insights people can share about the integration of MobileCause and Raiser's Edge. Has anyone used the other forms in MobileCause? How was the process of setting up the import feature?

    Thanks so much!

We did sign a contract with Mobile Cause, but the more I'm looking into it, the dicier it becomes. We have BBMS with NetCommunity, and we have IOM already. It seems that MobileCause wants to have us go "backwards" now. We would need to remove BBMS/NetCommunity and use their merchant account as well as Importacular to process any an all credit card donations. We have a number of long-time donors who have recurring credit card donations we process monthly for them. All this work work have to be re-created and re-done each month (as far as I can tell at this point--I need to talk with them more).

We had hoped that MobileCause was a simple 'add-on' marketing piece to use WITH what we have already. Even after many calls, emails, and questions, it appears that we cannot use what we have in place.

Has anyone else experienced this as well? Am I missing something? We were told they would build us donation pages for our website and people could donate online as well as via text.

Susan, have you had any of these issues? Is MobileCause really an ALL in or all out type of product? I'm looking for help before we get in too deep.

    Thanks everyone!
