Edit grey boxes

I need to amend the fund codes of a few gifts, yet when I open the gift record, the text is grey and I cannot amend anything. I read this Knowledgebase article (https://kb.blackbaud.co.uk/articles/Article/37569) about whether the gift is split, posted or adjust but none of these apply. If I go to split gifts as recommended, I still cannot edit the fund code here. Is there a solution to this? Thanks!

Victoria, it is my understanding that once the gift is posted the grayed out fields cannot be changed without deleting and re-entering the gift.

Do you have Supervisor Rights in your database? Or at least the Rights to Edit Gifts? (I assume so, but just checking...)

Are these Pledges that have been Written Off? (That will cause those fields to gray out.)

Are the Gifts linked to Memberships or Events that have restrictions? Not sure that this could be the reason, but something to look at.

Not sure what else it could be. The KB article you found lists the 3 most likely reasons.

I would suggest opening a Support Case and have them look at it via screen share. Then come back here and let us know what the cause is! I'm curious now.

Thanks Joan, but I do not have Gift Adjust functionality hence the need to do it another way unfortunately.

Change that, in typical RE fashion, it wasn't where I expected it to be so hopefully that will work now. Thank you!

Jen, it appears to be to do with a UK Gift Aid tax claim having already been made on this gift.
