URL parameter for revenue source?

Options
Hey there,

We are new in LO and have figured out the Origin Sources and how to use them as a URL parameter. However, we are looking to figure out how to add a revenue source code in the URL.
To (maybe) clarify, I'm referencing the Source Code that would be found in Cross References. It appears the source code is the same value as "Appeal=..." But how would I include that in the URL?

I would assume/hope it's not the same as s_src and s_subsrc...?

  • Not knowing what you're cross referencing to, I'm not sure this will be much help. Regardless, here is a mini-primer on Source Coding in Luminate Online.

Origin Source only applies when an account is created. Source Codes on the account creation level and individual interaction level can be populated in two ways - passive source coding and active source coding.

Passive = HTML referrer or set as "Default Source Code" within the Admin UI for some modules (like actions and donations)
Active = Set via URL using s_src and s_subsrc

Naming conventions and the values that you assign within source codes are completely up to you and how you can define your marketing attributions as the relate to campaigns, institutional or annual giving, etc.

There are organizations that use human-readable source codes like HSUS (s_src=web_ws_premium_test_opC_id93480558) or EDF and there are organizations that use matrixs or schemas to define lots of little things like WWF (s_src=AWG1610SS912). Defenders of Wildlife for instance uses a schema for source (s_src=3WDW1600XXXXX) and human-readable for subsource (s_subsrc=quick-donate_home_062116).
