Adding appeal to records a second time?

Options
I'm new to OLX. Can we add emails as an appeal ("Add this data to RE") a second time to catch new opt-outs or will that create a duplicate appeal on the constituent's assigned appeal list? Is it best to wait a week or two before adding the data to RE? What best practices do you follow to record the opt-outs on the constituent record in RE?

  • You must wait until the message finishes sending...which can be about 20 minutes, in my experience.  Then you can push the data to RE as often as you wish, whenever you wish.

So long as you don't alter the Appeal ID on the Appeal Record that OLX creates the first time you push the data over, it should just update the Appeal Tags (on Constituent Records) from that point forward.

I did some testing, but that was well over a year ago, and OLX will (I think...from what I remember) only update the Response data on the second (and subsequent) pushes.  And it will repopulate the Appeal Tag, should it have been manually deleted.  I remember trying to re-push the data when a Global Change went wrong and changed the date for not only the Appeal Dates I wanted to change (for a mailing) but also for the OLX Message sent on that day.  RE changed them all, and I hoped that re-pushing the OLX data would fix that, but it did not.  So I used Global Change to delete the OLX Appeal and then re-pushed the data, and done.

You can also add/edit any data you want on the Appeal Record itself, just don't edit the ID.  It must remain the completely un-helpful BBOX__ random number that isn't even sequential and therefore can't be sorted.  =)  (There are posts in the OLX Idea Bank to change this and let us edit the Appeal ID to what we want it to be...this Idea.  And there is this Idea as well that I just posted 2 months ago about the Response data.)
