Print Report of Online Files

Options
Should be able to add online files (uploaded via form or otherwise) to custom reports in Education Edge.


At the very least, be able to export a list of Filenames and URLS of the files from NetCommunity into excel.


I have no way of getting all students' files at once.

    Hello Avi,


    I tried a few things and see what you are talking about.  All files uploaded on forms will go into a Document Part in BBNC and their are 2 options to see those files uploaded.  In both spots you will be able to see all the documents in one area.


    Login as a Supervisor

    Go to Site Explorer > Files

    Select the document part in the left Folders menu and you will see the file names and URLs for all uploaded documents


    If the Document Part is put on a page (probably one that is secure so no one else can get to it) you will see all of the documents listed in the front end of the site.  The URLs will not show but there will be links to click on to get the document.  


    This is not exactly what you are looking for but hopefully it gets you what you need by having all the documents in one spot.  You would want to create a new part for each form to be able to have these filtered automatically for the documents you are looking for.

  • Right, I can even do that from the files view, see the links to each document. But that still doesn't allow me to print out those files with reports.

    While we cannot support or answer questions about third party software, if we have a list of the documents on a page in Blackbaud NetCommunity through the Documents part, a third party Google Chrome extension called GetThemAll can be used to download every document at once in bulk along with the associated links.

  • Education Edge is not a third part software.


    But I will try GetThemAll and use on a documents list.


    Frustrating that it's not natively part of the software.

    I think the third party reference was for the GetThemAll suggestion.


    I understand your frustration for not being able to accomplish your goal here within the application itself.  We are looking to make sure that all suggestions are considered for the future of our products and we can leave this active on the community to see if it gets any traction from other users.


    Hopefully the information you got here at least gets you to where you need to be short term.

  • Avi, in my opinion, this feature will likely not be considered as a new feature considering less than 2% of community suggested features have been integrated into NetCommunity upgrades.

    I just want to step in an try elaborate to avoid any confusion here.  There isn't anything specifically broken with regards to this area.  The software does give the ability to get the information needed within the application we just cannot output it in the method needed.  There was a pretty good alternate method given to get to the end result and that should not take too much extra time.


    I am not sure where the 2% number comes from as far as implementing suggestions so I will avoid giving numbers unless I have exact data.  


    With the Smart Tuition acquisition we have begun implementing our new K12 product line with that billing software.  Our goal is to have a complete seamless solution when we are done.  Suggestions like this are considered for that end goal and we love hearing feedback from other clients.  That is what helps us find out what is important to you.  

     

    Having this posted for one day and then saying it will never get implemented or that it is broken is not the right approach.  Stuff like this takes time and in the end this might not be something we ever implement but it will be based on needs and data we gather here and through other client contacts.  

     

    Blackbaud NetCommunity will not be implementing this feature but could it happen in another product, absolutely.  If the forum does its job and people like this idea and vote for it then we may see it someday.  

     

    We are trying to be responsive and transparent here and I would just ask that everyone try to be on the same team.  
  • I appreciate the responsiveness of all BB customer support: on this community, chat support, phone support, and hired hourly trainers.


    The frustrating part is most times our school wants to do anything that should be quick, we're told the system cannot do that. That the work-arounds we've already found are a better solution than what they could have come up with, or that there are other work-arounds that are equally as ridiculous.


    While we might be able to complete a task, it's effectively not being able to do so if it takes a longer amount of time to do it with this sytem than had we used paper and mail.


    So again, I appreciate your support and care. I apologize that my previous message was so defeated. This conglomerate of a system is certainly flawed, and the kind people trying to help only go so far.
