Using Event Module for Scholarship Ceremony

We would like to have our scholarship recipients register to attend the awards ceremony and hoped to use the seating section to put donors and recipients together at the same tables.


Has anyone done something similar before and do you have any suggestions? The scholarship manager would like to have the names of the scholarships in the awards area of the participant tabs and there are about 250-300 individually named awards. That seems like too many to add to the table for the awards. She wants to see what the name of the scholarship each student is awarded so she can decide where to seat them.


I have already uploaded this information to the attribute of each student and created a constituent record for them so that they could register for the event and we could link them in the system without having to ask them for their address again. I think it might be easier just to query this information and do this manually versus going to the trouble of adding all the awards to each of the participants. Some of which have up to 5 awards.


Is she asking for something that isn't easily done with this module or am I missing something and there is an easy way to do this?

    I'm not sure I quite understand how the Scholarship Manager wants to group the recipients but one option is to use Group/Seating Notes on the General Participant tab. If you're grouping by scholarship type, for example, use the type in Group/seating notes. When you are in the seating wizard, make sure you have that column visable. You can either create a Group or simply move everyone with like Group/seating notes to a table.
