PowerUp Challenge: First Standard Reports Task
Please complete this task before completing the other tasks.
Run a Gift Detail and Summary Report in Raiser's Edge NXT web view and share your experience, including any insights, challenges or enhancements you noticed. One key improvement is asynchronous processing, which lets you generate reports while continuing your daily tasks. You'll receive a notification once the report is ready. Try it out and let us know how this feature has improved your productivity.

@Crystal Bruce the asynchronous processing is an AWESOME feature and will add time to my days! I hope that this becomes available in Exports as well.

@Crystal Bruce - really like that it runs in the background and all my saved reports (for those available) are brought over from DBV are automatically. Love that you can export to CSV and use the data immediately - no more deleting 25 columns and locating your own headers!

@Crystal Bruce I love that I can now run these reports in webview, and in the background to boot!!!!

@Crystal Bruce I really like the asynchronous processing feature and all the possibilities to edit and customize a report. Way more user-friendly! It would be great though if there was a way to preview the report before running it.

@Crystal Bruce This is such an easy way to get a quick snapshot of data while working in web view. I love that I can easily pull the information and keep working on other things while the report processes. So convenient and helpful!

@Crystal Bruce Good to see all my reports created in the DB view come up here.

@Crystal Bruce I like the option to schedule the reports; I am hoping to try this for the month-end. Many of our reports run from a query and these run-time variables are apparently not working as of yet. I would also like to be able to preview the results before them going to a file automatically.

@Crystal Bruce
It did seem a bit slower than running the same report in Database view. I like the formatting better - the PDF seems “cleaner” than what I'm used to seeing.1 -
@Crystal Bruce It's easy to use and I think it's cleaner looking.

Being able to schedule them to run in the background is great! Anyone know if there are plans to have the option for the report to be emailed to selected recipients on a schedule?

@Crystal Bruce
Very clean looking and didn't take too long. Nice you can run several reports at the same time.1 -
@Crystal Bruce I like being able to schedule them and share.

@Crystal Bruce LOVE LOVE LOVE the fact that I can select whether to list anonymous donors as “Anonymous” or use an asterisk for each report! We usually list folks as Anonymous except for those very few times when we need to see the name and it's such a hassle to have to change it and then change it back in settings.

@Crystal Bruce I could see this being very helpful for reconciliation/verification of the past week's gifts if we schedule it to be sent to our gift processing team. I ran one of the canned reports and it appeared to be for received revenue; then I changed it and saved a copy to pull committed revenue. Neither was accurate to other reporting but I'm sure it's just something I missed in the configuration. Once configured to our particulars this will be valuable for our gift processing team.
Exporting as a csv is fine but it would be nice to be able to pull this into a list so we could click through to specific records for spot checking and fixing errors.

@Crystal Bruce I ran a report that I run weekly and it went fairly well. I don't need to print off the report, only look at it, so I didn't like that the only way to view the report was to download it. But I did enjoy getting to keep working while waiting for the report to be ready!

@Crystal Bruce, I ran the Daily Cash Receipt Report I use every day, and I love its ease of use. I also love that I can export it as a PDF or CSV file and schedule when to run it!

@Crystal Bruce
I like the option to run as a PDF or spreadsheet, which is useful depending ont he audience I wpuld be sharing it with. I will admit I was a bit confused that there were two seperate files for the summary and detail portions since they are named the same thing when downloaded and in the recently run tab.0 -
@Crystal Bruce, I absolutely LOVE the asynchronous processing. This will save me so much time and I won't have to reorganize my list of daily tasks to complete while the database is tied up with the processing. I also like that you're given the option of choosing how you'd like Anonymous donors to appear just before you hit the Run button. I do wish, however, that we could have the option of naming the download file something different before running it.

@Crystal Bruce I like that this report can be scheduled, and it seems to offer more customization options. It’s one of my favorites and also one of the easiest to run

@Crystal Bruce So nice that it doesn't tie up your session while processing. Being able to continue with other tasks is great.

@Crystal Bruce I like that it's fairly straight-forward and similar navigation steps as in database view. Even better, you're able to do other things while the report runs in the back!

@Crystal Bruce I rarely use the reports in database view, but the new web view process feels very comparable to me. It is more user friendly, though I wish we could run a preview using the 3 dot menu to the left of the report name to see report fields and formatting before running the job.

@Crystal Bruce Standard reports in NXT seem intuitive and are formatted similarly to DBV. The “recently run” tab allows for quick re-download if necessary. We are trying to get the scheduling functionality for our team and still haven't gotten it to work, but the concept of an automated report sending an email on a daily/weekly basis could free us up a lot of time!

@Crystal Bruce seems easy to navigate around, and the scheduling seems good. Will wait to see if it actually sends to members of the team.

@Crystal Bruce Love the option of putting an asterick with the name for anonymous.

@Crystal Bruce
We have used the gift detail report often in DB view. While I find the gift detail report easy to use in web view, I wish we could use an open-ended start date. We utilize Campaigns to designate which fiscal year gifts are credited. We have an event that occurs early in our fiscal year and we have gifts that arrive in the previous fiscal year. While we enter the gift date as the date received we credit the upcoming FY campaign. In the past I could simply utilize the campaign filter and leave the start date blank. In WV I have to enter a start date and I generally have no clue when the gifts started rolling in. The memory is not what it once was.0 -
I like being able to schedule them and share. Also, the export options

@Crystal Bruce I simply ran an existing Gift Detail and Summary report that I had already created and use monthly. I liked that I could simply run the report without opening it and making edits. After that was done, I did open it to play around with edits = very easy.

@Crystal Bruce
I don't usually use Webview reports so this was a great opportunity to play around with them. I like how easy it is to run the reports without having to go through all the prompts to edit.0 -
@Crystal Bruce Very smooth process. ?
