SYBUNTs

Options

Hey Everyone!

I need help pulling a SYBUNT list. I am looking to make a SYBUNT report that is a specific fund and over $1,000. I also need to add the constituent id, primary address, constituency code 1, giving capacity, and prospect manager. Does anyone know how to create this list/report?

Thank you

  • @Emily RussellFirst, create the query (make sure in tools. gift processing you choose soft-credits for both). Many folks forget that. Choose gift date NOT between the current FY along with that fund, the amount (greater than $1000) and the gift type. Underneath that will be the same information except you will have the date range that you want, whether is it the beginning of time or another start date and ending the day before the beginning of that current FY. In the Output, just put the name and then check a few records to make sure it is pulling the correct information of the criteria.

Gift Date not between 7.1.2023 and 6.30.2024

AND Fund iD equals UNOP (whatever your fund is)

AND GIft Type one of whatever gift type you want, Cash, Pledge, Pay-cash, etc.

AND Gift Date betweem 7.1.80 and 6.30.23

    AND Fund ID equals UNOP

AND Gift Type one of whatever gift type you want

If you have Donor Advisor Funds that get the hard credit and the donor gets the Soft credit and you have a code for your Donor Advisor Fund (we have an attribute) and put in your criteria to exclude the DAVF. But because you choose Soft Credit for Both, the donor will appear.

Then attach the query to an export with the various information you want. DO NOT export from the query, but from RE EXPORT. A mistake many make.

    @Emily Russell
SYBUNT request is targetting Constituent, so you want to run a Consittuent query.

In a constituent query, you can use summary of gift amount info and specify the criteria you wanted.

the screenshot bove basically saying, total up the giving that is before current year, using the gift type that “matters” to your data pull (for us we use pledge not payment to pledge as contribution revenue of a year), and that is going toward the fund id of 3000 (use your own fund), that this total giving is greater than $0 (some year before this year gave to this fund).

    AND

another summary of gift amount for the same criteria within the total amount of gift filter but instead of before current year, do this year, that this total giving is $0

If you do not run by calendar year, you can use date range that is your fiscal year.

As output, you can put whatever you needed, and from the “Query Fields” selection, include the total summary of gift for the “some year before this".

as for direct/soft/or both, that's going to be up to how you record gift data and report on soft credit. For us, fundraising donor report will be using soft credit by amount in soft credit grid option, not both, as that will double count from our record keeping.

If you use QUERY export data, you will have to worry about any “one to many” relationship data (i.e. phone and email), and if QUERY export directly, it WILL remove write off from pledge in the calculation for total amount of gift.

If you use EXPORT, Pledge full amount will be used, regardless of write off.
