Has anyone ever created a two for one discount in TeamRaiser?

Making the 2 for 1 concept work in Convio is not straight forward product functionality. I had a couple of ideas for how you might be able to make it work.

Discount Code in the Autoresponder

I think that you could accomplish this by adding a 100% discount code to your "Thank you for Registering" autoresponder. The process flow would be: Person #1 registers and recieves the email autoresponder with the discount code. Then Person #1 uses this code to register Person #2. The pitfall to this would be that Person #2 would then recieve the same autoresponder with the same code... This solution could also be confusing for the less technically savvy TR participant.

50% Discount Code

It might be more straight forward if you were to create a discount code for 50% off and then publicized it as 2 for 1. The participant would be required to use the discount code for both registrations but it would be a more straight forward process. The pitfall is that they may register 3 people with the 50% off, but this seems less risky than the aforementioned solution when person #3 registers for free.

Thanks for responding Robyn. We ended up just offering a discounted fee to everyone with the promo code. Take care!
