Development Coordinator - Accounting (Hybrid in Raleigh, NC)

The Development Coordinator - Accounting will assist with donor stewardship. This will include gift processing, donor acknowledgment, and donor database management. Key capacities include being detailed oriented, Microsoft office proficiency, and ability to work independently. Working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge/RE NXT is preferred.

This position will report to the Development Associate - Accounting and will support all Development staff to contribute to the overall fundraising goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Operations:

Update database records to ensure data and renewals are accurate and consistent through ongoing data clean-up projects, and by conducting major import projects including Change of Address updates, Deceased reports, and wealth screenings.

  • With high accuracy and timeliness, manage, oversee, and execute the day-to-day activities of donor database, including constituent records, gift processing, donor acknowledgements, honor/memorials, queries and reports, importing/exporting, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Establish new fund-raising reports and adapt ongoing reports to track giving levels, renewal rates, pledge collections, recurring gifts, and other data for ongoing and yearly campaigns.
  • Utilize third party software to enhance the existing donor database maintaining current industry standards and best practices.
  • Ensure all communication associated with donations are filed and recorded properly for audit purposes.
  • Conduct donor database system performance monitoring and maintenance.
  • Directly respond to donor inquiries and complaints via phone, email, or letters.
  • Assist Finance with the execution of a monthly reconciliation of Raisers Edge with general ledger.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
