Additional Tools For Company Coordinators!

WHAT’S THIS FEATURE?

We’ve created new Company Participant and Team Captain Email address books that allow company coordinators to easily communicate to members of their company teams from the participant center. Company coordinators are now empowered to recruit corporate participants and encourage fundraising across all the teams associated with their company.

 

HOW WILL THIS IMPROVE THE USER EXPERIENCE?

For large corporate teams, it’s very common for a single individual within a company to managing all the recruitment, fundraising and logistical activities for multiple teams across their company.  This enhancement will now allow a company coordinator to send emails to company team participants and captains in the coordinator’s hierarchy. It comes with two new address books: ‘Team Captains for Your Company’ and ‘Participants for Your Company’.

 

HOW DOES THIS SUPPORT EVENT STRATEGY?

At a strategic level, Company Coordinators can drive recruitment & fundraising among Team Captains and Participants by emailing them thru the Participant Center. Company coordinators will also be able to communicate critical company-specific logistical information (like where to find a team tent or when to pick up the corporate team t-shirt) to everyone participating on their corporate teams. By sending emails thru Participant Center, emails sent will be archived for historical reference by the Company Coordinator.

 

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

By improving the ability for a corporation to participate in your event, you will be able to better recruit corporate teams and potentially corporate sponsors for your event. The secondary effect of increasing team participation is growth overall fundraising because team members tend to fundraise more than individual participants. 

 

According to the 2011 Convio Peer to Peer Event Fundraising Benchmark Study, “Participants who register as part of a team are more likely to fundraise, and attain higher levels of fundraising, than participants who register to participate on their own. Team captains fundraise at even higher rates, so team captains should be educated and empowered by event coordinators as much as possible. Whether it is the element of competition or camaraderie, it is essential to foster team participation in fundraising events.”

Company X Nationwide Team and Coordinator

Company X Regional Team and Coordinator

Company X Local Event Team and Captain

 

If not, is this a feature that might be considered?

Shana - if you have not done so already, go ahead and please post this idea on Convio Ideas.  It isn't on the roadmap at the moment, but I think its a very compelling idea and it will be interesting to see if your peers in other organizations would vote on it for a future product release.  Please keep those good ideas coming!
