Can you restrict individuals / teams in TeamRaiser registration?

I'm new to TR so if this is simple, chalk it up to that. My question is can Team Captains (or the admin, etc.) restrict who registers on their team? For example, if we are a cancer research center and do not want a tobacco company to register with our TR, can we decline their participation? (this is a really bad example, but it gets the point across). The cancer research center would still want others to join and their teams to be made public.

  • Rather than requiring all new teams be vetted prior to being activated, I suggest you activate the New Team Notification feature and have the notifications sent to a staff member who will review each team's name and page to make sure it aligns with your ogranization's mission. In addition, I would add text to the waiver or regsitration process that states you reserve the right to deactivate any teams for any reason (ask your legal team for the most appropiate verbiage). This method eliminates the barrier to entry and allows your teams tostart recruiting and fundraising for you at the time of registration. Secondly, if you want to restrict team members instead of teams you can activate the Team Password component that requires everyone who wants tojoin a team have the team password to join.
