Bib Reports

Options

I work for an organization and we host a walk/run for 14,000+ participants annually. Last year was our first year working with Convio and TeamRaiser. We were not able to work out a good process for assigning and tracking bibs using Convio. Has anyone come up with a solution for assign/tracking bibs for a large event using Convio/Team Raiser?

Thanks!

  • Hi Stacy,

There are a couple of ways to manage this and the smartest way is really dependent on your event's business process around providing people with their running bibs.

    1. Assign Number via Participation Type

If you navigate to Manage Participation Types> Edit>Select Type Options

The 4th option here is Race Number Generation

With this you are assigning the number at the time of registration and it lives on the participants registration record.

    2. Use a Custom Field on the Cons Record

When I was running events, this is how I did it because it was easier to change numbers.  I would pull a list of the participants, then assign the numbers in excel and use the cons upload to add the number.

Then at the end of the event, I'd go in an blank out that field so I could reuse the same field every year.  If you are only managing 1 event at a time, this works pretty well.

    Hi Robyn,

If an event has started to accept TeamRaiser registrations and the "race number generation" option was not selected during the initial set up and the event manager turn on the option now. Will the current registrants be automatically assigned with a bib number? If bib numbers aren't automatically assigned to those who have previously registered the bib number field be a blank field that event managers can manually update those numbers correct?

    Thanks for your insight!

    Best,

    Nohe
