ZERO’s Manager, Events will play an integral role in cross-team collaboration by providing project management of all events (excluding the Run/Walk series) company-wide. The Manager, Events will be responsible for managing all details for ZERO’s annual advocacy Summit, Support Group Leader Training, Bold for Blue Awards, and Educational Symposiums. This individual will oversee all deliverables to ensure a successful run of show. The Manager, Events will also assist with account management on a minimum of 3-5 ZERO Run/Walk events. Account management for the Run/Walks to include working with the Event Management Companies on logistics, helping make sponsorship asks, and recruiting volunteers.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead project management across teams for the advocacy Summit, Support Group Leader Training, and Bold for Blue Awards annually to include all hotel logistics and negotiation of hotel contracts.
  • Manage all vendor relationships for the advocacy Summit, Support Group Leader Training, Bold for Blue Awards, and additional ZERO events.
  • Collaborate with the VP, Events on the strategy of the ZERO Prostate Cancer Tee-Off series and provide logistical and day-to-day management of the program.
  • Support the ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk series by providing project management and sponsorship solicitation support to a minimum of 3-5 Run/Walks nationwide.
  • Assist with fundraising efforts for non-chapter Run/Walks nationwide.
  • Support the Director, Run/Walk on all logistical and administrative elements connected to the National Race Directors Meeting.
  • Provide logistical and events-related support of the regional Educational Symposiums.
  • Provide support and manage any new ZERO organization-wide events.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Desired Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in project management and events held in hotel venues.
  • A minimum of 2 years of negotiation and contract Request For Proposal (RFP) experience.
  • The ability to pay close attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
  • Exemplifies ZERO’s culture of humble, hungry, and smart.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work across teams/departments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • An Associate Degree in Business Management, Administration, Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, a related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of work experience within a hotel or nonprofit setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management, Hospitality Management, Hotel Administration, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • A minimum of 4-5 years of work experience in project management, a hotel, or nonprofit setting.
  • Completion of the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification.

Physical Requirements:

  • Constant use of a computer and other office productivity equipment, such as computer printer, calculator, and copier.
  • Prolonged periods of a stationary position at least 50% of the time.
  • The ability to recognize details at close range for extended periods of time.
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Frequently move boxes and equipment weighing up to 20 pounds at events such as Run/Walks.
  • Frequent movement across multiple different terrains/surfaces while outdoors at Run/Walks.

This role will report directly to the VP, Events and will work closely with the Events team to support ZERO’s mission to end prostate cancer.

This position is based remotely and candidates may live in any area within the United States. This position will require nationwide travel approximately 25% of the time.
