Personal Donor Badge not appearing -- ideas?

Options

We have Personal Donor badges configured  in our Teamraiser and they seem to be working well, except  for when a donor makes a gift after the registration process is completed.

For example, we prompt people during registration to make a personal gift to their fundraising drive. If they do, the badge appears.

But, we have a donor who registered without making a pesonal gift, and then a week later did make one in hopes of seeing the badge. The badge did not appear. The donor name and email address match the participant's name and email. The gift appears on the participant's honor roll. So everything looks good, but no badge.

How do we make the Personal Donor badge appear?

Thanks,

David Lytle

It sounds like you have a badge tied to the "additional gift" option. Since a gift following registration would just be classified as a self-gift and not an "additional gift" you will need to configure the same badge to appear for anyone who has donated to themselves.

    Hope this helps,

    I don''t think I explained this properly.

This is a "Personal Gift Achievement Badge" configured under the "Select Fundraising Options" section of Teamraiser. It is not a Milestone Badge.

I have configured it to award  a Personal Gift Achievement Badge to anyone who donates to their own Teamraiser page. But it does not seem to work if the donation is made after the person  initially registers as a participant.  You talked about an "additional gift" option, but I don't see where that exists and not sure that it applies here.

I can't offer a solution but I can add my confusion! We have the same Personal Gift Achievement Badge set up for our TeamRaiser.  Seems to be working just fine, except anyone who pays anything during registration gets the badge.  Registration fees are not tax-deductible donations, and we have the "additional gift" set up during registration.  In my mind, anyone who makes a gift above their registration should get the badge, not everyone who pays for registration.  Is there any way to configure this so it's only awarded to donations?

I think this has to do with the fact that we have a setting to include the value of registration fees in the status indicators (Event Options>Edit Advanced Options>8. Status Indicators Include the Monetary Value of Registration Fees).  I have a case opened with support about this, but it would be great if anyone has any insights!

We want to include the registration fees in status indicators so the site shows the true impact of the amount raised, but we don't want to give the badge to everyone who pays for registration.  Some people "won" free registration and they're being penalized (by not getting the badge).  Is there any info about how to refine the settings on this anywhere?

    Thanks,

    Stacy

  • Hi David,

Hopefully my solution will work for you.

Jump into the Donor's Cons 360 Record > Transactions tab > change the soft credit from himself to himself, and this should sort of "reset" the badge. Good luck!
