Overview
Under the general direction of the Manager of Development Services, and as part of a small team, the Dev Associate’s primary responsibilities include all phases of gift processing, including gift acknowledgment preparation and support of daily Accounting reports. Standards, business process, and communication are all key to our work.

Some expectations for this role are that within:

1 month, this person will:

  • Understand the various duties associated with NYPL gift processing
  • Contribute to the day to day gift entry production
  • Know where to go for answers to Service Bureau related questions
  • Be excited about learning lots more about NYPL gift processing

3 months, this person will:

  • Increase their understanding of the various duties associated with NYPL gift processing
  • Contribute more fully to the day to day gift entry production
  • Be excited about learning lots more about NYPL gift processing

6 months and beyond, this person will:

  • Fully contribute to the operations of the Service Bureau’s gift processing
  • Understand gift data & standard data entry in the Development database of record
  • Learn and understand key membership and gift coding associated with gift processing

Responsibilities

  • Become fluent in all aspects of NYPL gift processing and membership management
  • Contribute to the integrity & accuracy of business critical data capture
  • Support Raiser’s Edge data queries, imports, and exports for the Service Bureau team
  • Support Direct Mail Marketing information needs
  • Work to leverage technology to empower Development fundraising operations

Required Education, Experience & Skills

Required Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with The Raiser’s Edge, or other large relational database
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and hosted systems
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

Required Experience
2+ years working with relational databases
Required Skills

  • Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks with deadlines
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and independently

Schedule
