The Team

The Marketing and Engagement Team is comprised of the following departments: Annual Fund, Global Connectors (Major Gifts), Partnerships & Government Affairs, Donor Services, Marketing & Communications, and Operations. This role will collaborate closely with all teams while sitting within a new operations team.

The Role

The Data Associate supports the Marketing and Engagement team in fulfilling its purpose to raise Alight’s visibility, increase private giving, build strategic partnerships, and engage our donors. Reporting to the Engagement Operations Manager and following guidance from team directors, this position supports the Annual Fund, Global Connectors, and Partnerships teams to track and report on their fundraising goals. This role will collaborate with Donor Services and the Marketing & Engagement Specialist to align data across teams.

Raiser’s Edge Data Management – 50%

  • Confirm data exists and is accurate across all platforms. Download and import constituent records from a variety of platforms, including Airtable, Active Campaign, and Classy. Import data from third parties and update dynamic content monthly or as needed.
  • Manage input and extraction of data in the database. Run reports regularly or upon request.
  • Using chart of activities, review and update data as needed to track and measure returns on investment.
  • Globally and manually update Raiser’s Edge (RE) records to reflect new systems, including constituents, gifts, actions, and code tables.
  • Extract data to track annual fundraising targets and run comparative reports on donor performance.
  • Support the development of progress dashboards and data visualizations.

Annual Fund Activities – 25%

  • With Annual Fund director, build targeted audience lists for Direct Marketing solicits. Pull lists, import data, set up codes in RE for gift tracking, work with Donor Services to ensure accurate coding, and share results to teams on solicit performance quarterly or as requested.
  • Globally update donor communication preferences in response to targeted emails, calls, or texts.

Portfolios & Relationship Management Support – 25%

  • Review and update portfolios and work with Global Connectors to manage coding so they can track and report on their own gift solicitations and stewardship activities.
  • Support pipeline modeling and forecasting for new prospect management.
  • Run insight reports on donor demographics and wealth analytics for marketing segmentation or cultivation around affinity groups.
