ZERO is seeking an Assistant to join the Development Team. The ideal candidate is a motivated, highly organized, adaptable team player with an interest in nonprofit development operations. This position requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced work flow. The chosen candidate will have a positive attitude, passion, and excitement for building relationships and furthering ZERO’s fundraising efforts.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage data in ZERO’s Raiser’s Edge NXT database.
  • Maintain data entry of gifts and process all acknowledgements.
  • Manage quality control and accuracy of constituent records.
  • Extract and manage data for solicitations and reporting.
  • Process campaign and donor-related mailings.
  • Assist with donor stewardship via phone, email, and hand-written notes.
  • Assist with administrative and project-related tasks as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Prior data entry and administrative experience.
  • Prior customer service experience (telephone, email, letters).


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fundraising and donor relations experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge or other fundraising/CRM software is a plus.


Physical Requirements:

  • Constant use of a computer and other office productivity equipment, such as computer printer, calculator, and copier.
  • Prolonged periods of a stationary position at least 50% of the time.
  • The ability to recognize details at close range for extended periods of time.
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.


This role will report directly to the Database Manager to support ZERO’s mission to end prostate cancer. The Assistant, Development is a part-time role working 20 hours per week. While the schedule can be flexible, this role is required to work a minimum of three days per week with hours worked during normal business hours (9am-5pm ET).
