Ducks Unlimited, Inc., the continent’s leader in wetlands and waterfowl conservation, seeks a Development Associate in Minnesota with the following primary fundraising responsibilities:

  • Identify, cultivate and solicit entry-level major gifts from individuals to support the conservation mission of Ducks Unlimited (DU).
  • Partner with development and event fundraising staff to raise awareness of DU’s major gift program and increase major gift revenue in the state.
  • Work with DU leadership to motivate and guide volunteers with major gift fundraising responsibility.
  • Serve as the primary staff liaison for Minnesota State Campaign Committee.
  • Participate in major gift events and field experiences.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of fundraising or related experience with an emphasis on non-profit engagement and a strong outdoors / conservation ethic. Additional qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship and team-building skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to provide leadership and guidance to DU volunteers
  • Goal-oriented and performance driven
  • Computer literacy with a proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet and database management programs

Successful candidates will be self-starters who can work independently as well as part of a team and are driven to succeed. Familiarity with the DU event system, experience with fundraising events, established relationships in local communities, and an interest in outdoor conservation activities are also desired. Selected candidates should have the desire and ability to travel in Minnesota and will be expected to reside in a mutually agreed upon location within the assigned work area with preference given to the Minneapolis, MN area.
