Donor Database Specialist

American Friends of the Hebrew University is seeking a Donor Database Specialist to support the Development Operations department with data management, reporting, and analysis. The position is responsible for maintaining data integrity, providing ongoing reports, and serving as the Raiser’s Edge resource for all users. The Donor Database Specialist provides organizational support to our fundraisers through a combination of ongoing and special projects.

Responsibilities

Data Management

  • Maintain donor and prospect records to ensure accuracy and integrity of the data, including biographical and contact details, giving history, relationships, notes, actions, attributes, and other critical information.
  • Proactively lead regular database hygiene and maintenance efforts, including duplicate records, data appends, deceased updates, salutations, global changes, and other routine processes. Manage the NCOA updates throughout the year.
  • Manage donor recognition codes within the database, identify new recognition recipients each year based on giving history.

Support the development and marketing departments with special projects

  • Collaborate with the Director of Development Operations to prepare regular and customized reports and comprehensive queries as requested by the regional fundraising offices for general mailings, invitations, email blasts, analysis, and other requests.
  • Responsible for the exporting of data, segmentation, quality control and the review of lists for accuracy before sending to internal or external sources.
  • Support the regional offices with tracking event participation for virtual and live events, including galas, parlor meetings, alumni reunions, board meetings, etc.
  • Work closely with the marketing department to manage the exchange of email data between Mailchimp and Raiser’s Edge using Chimpegration, as well as tracking email and website activity.
  • Responsible for imports working with Omatic Cloud and Import-omatic for Raiser’s Edge and RENXT.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Governance and regional offices to track board members within the database
  • Train and educate new and existing staff on processes including data entry, reporting and list extractions. Create documentation as needed.
  • Provide ongoing Raiser’s Edge support to all users. Serve as lead contact for RE and NXT questions and issues including scheduling Blackbaud training for colleagues.
  • Serve as backup for gift processing for the Development Operations Associate
  • Special projects as assigned

Experience

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent transferrable experience
  • 2 years+ experience with CRM required. Comprehensive knowledge of Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge/NXT software is preferred
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, sorting, filtering, pivot tables, vlookup, etc.
  • Experience with Omatic, Chimpegration and Mailchimp a plus
  • Familiarity with OneDrive/SharePoint
  • Excellent communication skills, including phone and written.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to execute complex projects that span departments.
  • Excellent time management skills required for prioritizing and executing multiple deadlines. 
  • Experience in fundraising or sales/service environment a plus

Salary range for this position is: $60,000-$70,000
