Creating a list (report) of opportunities in NXT

Hello everyone! I am trying to create a list of opportunities in NXT. When I try to select a specific range (for example this FY) nothing loads. It also doesn't load if I select “This Fiscal Year” in the drop down. Any ideas? I don't find this reporting system to be helpful. Again, I spent my career using Database View. Also, how are gifts linked within NXT to the actual gift so that will pull as well? Thank you!

@Lynda Buhlig Actually this is the one time I like using RE NXT as far as pulling opportunity lists. You wan to make sure you have the columns you want and check your filters as well to make sure you have what you need. Below is an example of what I use for this. Hope it helps.

Also if some of the info is not filled on in opportunities, like date ask, etc, that can cause an issue. In database view, you can make these fields required but not in RE NXT and if people are putting info for opportunities in RE NXT, they may not be filling in this information.

@Joe Moretti thank you. Not everything is completed so I am getting nothing unless I want all opportunities ever done. Have you found a good training on this topic within Blackbaud?

@Lynda Buhlig I have not found that much regarding opportunities/proposals training. I have 4 Status Steps (Step 1 Planning, Step 2 Asked/Pending, Step 3 Approved/Accepted, Step 4 Completed/Closed and two more Withdrawn & Declined. In Database View, I have made the Name, Purpose, Fundraiser, Status, Ask Amount and Ask Date REQUIRED (you cannot do this in RE NXT). Each step the Ask Date gets changed to that date. Once the Gift comes in, the gift is linked to the proposal and moves to Step 4. My rule is that all opportunities/proposals should be done in Database View, since RE NXT only has two required fields and uploading any media to the proposal does not carry over to database view if it is done in RE NXT. Below is a sample. I am not a fan of RE NXT, but the Opportunity List in RE NXT is a good reporting tool for this.

@Joe Moretti thank you; very helpful! I'm assuming that if you enter items into Database View they will show in RE NXT with regards to what you outlined above?

I, too, am not a fan of RE NXT with the limited experiences I have had with it.

@Lynda Buhlig Media uploads in RE Database View do carry over to RE NXT, but any media uploads in RE NXT do not carry over to RE Database View. Another issue Blackbaud needs to correct.
