Pay Range: $26.50-$28.85 per hour

Summary Special Service for Groups (SSG) is a multipurpose human service nonprofit organization based in Los Angeles (www.ssg.org). Under the direction of the Development Director, the Development Coordinator will facilitate key development activities to support SSG’s divisions, including but not limited to database management, tracking & reporting various information, donor stewardship, and assisting fundraising campaigns and events.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain and manage the agency CRM - currently Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge 7 (RE 7) + RE NXT WebView (RE NXT)
  • Maintain up-to-date, accurate donation and donor records in Blackbaud RE 7 & RE NXT
  • Routinely process gifts made via SSG’s Blackbaud Online Express & RE NXT forms
  • Provide customer support to donors as needed
  • Produce timely and accurate updates for management and fiscal regarding donations received via all giving platforms, including but not limited to monthly summary reports
  • Ensure receipts, thank you letters, etc., for donations are generated in a timely manner
  • Manage donation/registration forms for multiple division websites and campaigns/events via Blackbaud modules, integrated applications, and external platforms as needed
  • Support and facilitate the use of Blackbaud RE 7 & RE NXT features (e.g. marketing tools, batches, lists) to support donor communications and fundraising
  • Manage multiple fundraising platforms needed for SSG, including but not limited to online auction site; third-party gift acceptance & payment systems; and crowdfunding sites
  • Participate in Development “workgroups” to engage in planning, design, and implementation of fundraising and donor stewardship for assigned SSG divisions
  • As assigned, participate in the design and execution of fundraising initiatives, including social media campaigns, special events, and annual appeals
  • Collaborate with other development team members to maintain accurate and up-to-date tracking of grant proposals in Blackbaud RE NXT
  • As assigned, generate fundraising reports for SSG Board and/or management
  • Assist in coordinating training and provide technical assistance to other staff regarding use of Blackbaud RE 7 & RE NXT and other platforms as needed
  • Participate in development team meetings and committee meetings as assigned
  • Maintain and uphold Agency mission statement, values, policies, procedures, and principles
  • Regular attendance required

Secondary Functions

  • As assigned, work with the development team to identify and facilitate expanded application of Blackbaud RE NXT in various SSG fundraising efforts
  • As assigned, complete reports, forms, and other documents for proposals
  • Assist as assigned in development of agency communications materials (e.g. e-newsletters)
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications – Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree OR a minimum of 3 years’ experience in directly related work and an Associate’s degree
  • Experience with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge 7 or similar database/CRM systems
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Cloud Collaboration platforms (e.g. Dropbox, Slack, Airtable)
  • Strong time management, organizational, and coordination skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Mature, with an ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to think through issues and identify potential solutions

  • Valid California Driver License, Proof of Car Insurance, and Reliable transportation
  • Fully COVID-19 vaccinated (2 weeks from last vaccination dose to be considered fully vaccinated)
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, overtime as needed

Desirable qualifications

  • Experience in at least a supportive role with fundraising, including but not limited to setting goals, establishing timelines, and identifying effective messaging, is strongly preferred
  • Experience working in a nonprofit organization setting and/or in human services a plus
  • Basic proficiency in Canva or similar design application, social media platforms, and website/webpage editing a plus

Supervisory Responsibilities – None

Environmental Conditions (Working Conditions) The environment for this position is primarily an office environment. The position may occasionally require field-based work (e.g. community meetings) which can involve travel to different neighborhoods across LA and exposure to weather conditions prevalent at the time.

  • Note: This position is temporarily a hybrid position (three days on-site and two days telecommuting); a date for transition to full-time on site is expected but still to be determined.

Physical Requirements In the course of performing this job, there will be sitting, standing, walking, and driving required.
