Primary Job Functions

1. Support philanthropic data collection and management efforts in support of CHS’s mission and strategic plan to maximize donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts to grow philanthropy revenue

  • Input, proof, and validate a variety of data in the donor management software and related fundraising applications, confirm the integrity of those systems, and provide support to data analysis and reporting.
  • Perform prompt, accurate centralized data entry on behalf of the Home and regional offices
  • Support the timely processing and acknowledgement of annual gifts, pledges, pledge payments, matching claims, memorial gifts, in honor gifts, and other contributions to CHS.
  • Support the development of donor and mailing lists for CHS fundraising efforts.
  • Input operational, service and/or donor related data into the database; locate and correct data entry errors.
  • Provide training and consultation on gift tracking, analysis and reporting.
  • Assist in managing new data from outside sources, assessing integrity and appropriateness of all data identified for potential system import and conducting import process.
  • Develop queries within the database to access specific information; perform searches to find information requested by team members.
  • Create and/or request system codes as needed and consult with users on coding and tracking for localized fundraising and volunteer efforts.
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve database issues; log and respond to user requests in a timely, effective manner.
  • Work with the Finance team to support accounting and auditing functions and standards.
  • Conduct research for empirical data on individuals, corporations and foundations using creative techniques and a wide variety of biographical, organizational and financial sources such as in-house files, online database services, Internet resources, library and government sources and other external reference material as needed.
  • Perform various administrative duties as needed.

  • Develop a strong knowledge base and stay current on job-related issues and trends.
  • Participate actively in departmental meetings, training and education, as well as the quality process.
  • Comply with CHS’s code of conduct, policies, procedures and other obligations.
  • Assist with training other team members and providing back up when necessary.
  • Pick up projects on the fly; perform other duties as assigned from time to time.

Job Qualifications

Education, Licenses and Certifications:

  • High school diploma or GED, required

Experience:

  • Two years of experience working with spreadsheets and databases, required.
  • Two years of experience training or supporting application systems and users, required.
  • Experience using Raiser’s Edge or similar fundraising software, strongly preferred.
  • Experience in child welfare, human or social services, strongly preferred
