Ending TeamRaiser/DIY Fundraisers

Options

What are some best practices for closing out participants DIY fundraising campaigns? We use TeamRaiser for peer-to-peer fundraising without an endurance event. Therefore, each individual has their own timeline and start and end dates--some with no defined end dates.

We'd like to close out the drives, notify the participants that we are doing so and still make it easy for them to register again next year should they choose to do so. We've even created a Follow up survey for users to tell us about their experience using the tool.

Any available resources would be great!

Thanks!

  • We do the same thing. I *think* you'd need a new teamraiser every year though if you want returning participants, because (unless they use a new email address) they'll log in and be brought back to their old page?

We just let old ones go and stop promoting them.  I think what we're going to do  is "copy" the TR next year and just redirect people to the new one.

Would love to hear others' thoughts on this though!

Glad to know we are not the only ones out there! I do remember a conversation about having to create a new TeamRaiser event every year. Since I think we're coming up on our one year anniversary, I'd love to hear how anyone has successfully migrated active participants during the time of the switch too!

Good point re: active... Can you keep it open and just start redirecting new people to new one, and wait to officially close the old TR until all those events are done?

    Same boat here.

We also plan on creating a new copy and directing the friendly URL there. Then we'll let the old one run until all the fundraisers peter out.

I suppose we'll determine that with lack of new donations and page edits, though we did get event dates via the registration questions for some.
