The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Donor Database Manager to join our Financial Development team. This position is responsible for maintaining the information integrity of the donor database, Raiser’s Edge, and for maximizing its fundraising potential. You will ensure that the database is operating effectively with other internal operating systems. This is a hybrid role combining work within the office and from home.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Identify new major gift prospects and conducts research to support the department’s fundraising efforts
  • Develop policies and procedures as it pertains to gift tracking, entry, and donor data input and extraction, and provide end-user training
  • Develop and implement targeted annual giving strategies for direct mail, email, and online opportunities.
  • Act as a liaison to service vendors (Blackbaud and Postomatic) to review annual contracts, keep up-to-date with improvements, and maintain best practices.
  • Organize, coordinate, and maintain the integrity of a hardcopy and electronic filing system for all gift entry-related backup, including copies of contributions, gift backup, acknowledgment letters, batch posting reports, and/or other gift entry control reports.
  • Manage and produce custom and standard donor reports to support grants, the YMCA annual campaign, and stewardship activities.
  • Maintain donor research systems to provide comprehensive, accurate, and timely research and reporting to support fundraising objectives.
  • Conduct research on potential major donors, foundations, corporations, and volunteers and report to Association leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of database management experience using Raiser’s Edge
  • Crystal Reports software knowledge is preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite - Advanced experience with Excel
  • Ability to manage competing priorities; adjust to different working styles; organized with keen attention to detail.
  • Comprehensive campaign or philanthropy experience preferred
  • Able to recognize and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.

  • Positive and professional interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain relationships with donors, community members, customers, and coworkers
  • Demonstrate professionalism in both attitude and appearance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to develop positive working relationships within all levels of the organization, including volunteers and members.
  • Complete YMCA online Child Abuse Prevention training on the first-day and additional online and in-person training as required.
