Reporting to the Senior Associate Director, the Associate Director of Financial Aid Systems (ADFAS) manages a team to provide technical expertise and support to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships (OFAS) within the division of Strategic Enrollment Management and Student Success (SEMSS) by assuming responsibility for the overall design and operations of the technical systems framework so that it allocates and delivers federal, state, and institutional financial aid to students and their families in a timely, equitable, and coherent manner. These goals are generally accomplished both by directly interacting with the Ellucian Banner system and other systems and by managing and aligning the technical staff that interact with the system with division, department, and institutional goals as well as the rules and regulations of the Federal Department of Education and State Council of Higher Education for Virginia.

This position plays a leadership role within OFAS, serving as the primary IT and functional contact. This role requires a blend of student financial aid functional knowledge, technical expertise, management, and business analysis skills. This position also provides continued support and maintenance of the OFAS software systems (including Banner) in addition to providing support to financial aid staff, student applicants, and internal and external stakeholders.
