Gift Aid Declarations via NXT (UK only)

Options

Hi, we are currently reviewing our compliance with gift aid and I am wondering, is there a way of running a report with gift aid declarations to keep for audit purposes? I realise I could run it as a query but donations via NXT - the donor ticks the gift aid box on our website and the only evidence I can see for this is when the gift is committed and the declaration auto imports to the record. TIA

  • @LEONIE ANSELL we don't use NXT yet, but we have this same issue with OLX. I asked Blackbaud a few years ago if there was any way that we could download confirmation that the gift aid declaration came in via the OLX donation form, as there's no way to prove we didn't just decide to apply the gift aid declaration ourselves. They said no, but that they had confirmed with HMRC that declarations will come to charities via this route, and HMRC were happy with it.

I just kept a log of this response from them and also a screenshot of the wording that the donor sees when they tick yes to gift aid on our forms. The only other option I could think of was to screenshot the list of donations in OLX before they are processed, as this is the only stage that says ‘Tax declaration ticked’. But, it would be far too labour intensive to copy this for everyone who ticks the box.
