Venmo and(or) PayPal

My organization is considering looking into just adding Venmo as a payment option. My question is this: it seems relatively straightforward to do using KB article 196074 however we don't necessarily want to use PayPal. Is there any way to just add Venmo? The way I'm reading it it looks like Venmo would be processed through PayPal - like I'd need a business PayPal account in order to accept Venmo.

    @Mercedes McCayRead yes at least that was true when I set my system up. PayPal bought Venmo in 2013.

    We love giving our donors as many options as possible:)

    I’m curious why you wouldn’t want both?

    @Mercedes McCayRead - In order to have Venmo as a payment option on your org's donation forms you will need a business PayPal account - all funds received through this particular integration will be processed through PayPal.

    I'm also curious why you wouldn't want to offer both payment options.
