Duties

Join our team at Wilder Foundation and spend your days working for good! We are seeking a skilled and passionate database manager to be part of our fundraising team. Fresh off of completing a major campaign, our team is energized and ready to build on our success. The Development Database Manager will help strengthen foundational practices and challenge our team to think big about the future.

This position is a strategic and tactical partner with colleagues in the Advancement Department as well as across the organization. You will establish best practices for capturing, maintaining, and turning data into action. If you get excited by developing systems that support service delivery, using data to inform decision making, and collaborating with colleagues to reach goals then this could be the job for you.

You will be part of Wilder’s Advancement Team which includes Individual Fundraising, Program Development, Volunteerism and Communications. You will also partner closely with the Finance and Information Technology Departments.

As the Development Database Manager, you will spend your time managing and overseeing our use of the Raiser’s Edge and NXT database, providing support and training to 25 users across the organization, maintaining a responsive donor acknowledgement process, providing data analysis and reporting that helps shape fundraising strategies, and building relationships with colleagues and external supporters of our organization.

Job responsibilities include:

• Database Management and Administration (70%) – Work with Director of Annual Giving and Advancement Operations to uphold excellent data standards, develop and manage systems that support service delivery, generate reporting and analysis, and train and support colleagues in database and donor stewardship best practices.

• Stakeholder Management (20%) – Be responsive and build authentic relationships with external stakeholders that help advance department goals and the mission of the organization. Align work internally with colleagues and seek collaborative solutions.

• Financial Management (10%) – In support of the Vice President of Advancement and Director of Annual Giving and Advancement Operations, assist with development and generation of reporting, budgeting and other measurement tools.

Job Qualifications

• Prior work in a fundraising environment and minimum of three years of progressive experience using Raiser’s Edge and NXT database.

• Track record as a database administrator strongly preferred.

•Ability to understand, interpret, and analyze data and systems and operationalize results.

•Strong project management skills including planning, prioritizing, organizing and follow through.

•Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills. Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across differences.

•Strong verbal and written communication skills.

This is a hybrid role and a full-time position with some evening and weekend hours. Part-time or flexible hours may also be considered. This position reports to the Director of Annual Giving and Advancement Operations and has supervisory responsibility.
