Who We Are :
The Atlanta Community Food Bank is working to end hunger in our community with the food, people and big ideas needed so that no one worries where their next meal is coming from. Since 1979, we’ve been providing food for a growing network of nonprofit partners – including food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, night shelters and senior centers. We currently serve more than 700 partners in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia.

About the Role:
The Prospect Research Manager is responsible for the managing prospect research program and on-going fundraising research operations, as well as managing and reporting on actions/moves program. This individual will provide comprehensive research on existing donors and analyze giving data to identify new prospects for development staff and members of the Executive Leadership Team, manage portfolio assignments for fundraisers, and support moves/actions program. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, curious, and focused. The Prospect Research Manager is a member of our Development division and reports to the Senior Manager, Development Operations and Analytics.

What You’ll Do:
Prospect Research
- Conduct proactive and reactive research to identify new prospects
- Identify and evaluate philanthropic capacity, propensity, giving likelihood and interest.
- Perform wealth estimations and assign ratings based on publicly available information, including insider holdings, real estate, salary estimates and general demographic assessments.
- Review and select prospects for consideration for various fundraising projects, including capital campaigns and planned giving.
- Work with direct mail team to use mail-house’s modelling and assigned appeal initiative, harnessing the data for additional insights and fundraising, and identifying prospecting gaps.

Project Management
- Review and select prospects for consideration for various fundraising projects, including capital campaigns and planned giving.
- Assign, build and rebalance fundraiser portfolios in collaboration with department Directors and frontline fundraisers.
- Research, implement, and manage a tiered portfolio system for major donors within the database.
- Maintain online reference accounts and review newspapers, magazines and other publications for sources of information on donors and prospects and update staff.
- Evaluate prospect research software and make recommendations to ensure Food Bank’s prospecting needs are aligned with software capabilities.
- Work with on-site IT department and product support to resolve system integration issues and ensure prospect program updates occur.

Data Management and Reporting
- Interpret biographical, relationship and complex financial information on individuals, corporations and foundations and develop basic and in-depth profiles.
- Develop, document, and manage procedures that maintain standards of quality, accuracy, and timelines for prospect research and moves management.
- Create and manage system for tracking conducted prospect research profiles in database.
- Assist Donor Services & Analytics Team in maintaining database integrity.
- Map, activate, and manage Action Tracks within Raiser’s Edge NXT for action automation, tailoring Action Tracks to individual fundraisers’ needs.
- Develop and generate prospecting and moves management reports that support planning, decision-making, and measure outcomes.

What You’ll Need: Skills and Experience your resume should demonstrate:
Must have demonstrated success thinking logically, solving problems, and showing attention to detail. Additionally, must demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate findings to those who will make decisions based on your analysis.

Strong proficiency with Excel spreadsheets, including the ability to organize data and create reports to tell a story, to be used for decision making or the like.

Proven success evaluating data and making data driven recommendations.

Proven record of delivering outstanding service to internal or external customers.

Even Better if You Have:
Experience using ResearchPoint or other donor prospecting tool.
Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT or Raiser’s Edge 7.
