Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, Director of Advancement Services serves on the Advancement leadership team and is the internal expert on fundraising operations, leading prospect development, gift entry, reporting, database maintenance and management, and administrative / operational support for the other functional areas within the Office of Advancement. Emphasis is on the maintenance of the CRM database (must have expert level knowledge of Raiser’s Edge), gift accounting, reporting, and implementing an institution-wide comprehensive donor relations and stewardship program. In addition, the Director supervises the Advancement Services Associate. The Director will support the Advancement Office and all fundraising activities, as well as serve as the campaign administrator for the school’s upcoming comprehensive campaign.

Key Functions and Expected Performances:

Provide effective leadership of the Prep’s Advancement Services program with attention to the following:

  • Lead gift entry and ensure gift entry practices align with donor intentions. Ensure the timely and accurate data entry of gifts and/or biographic information, including gift coding, fund compliance, as well as compliance with IRS regulations of gift substantiation, NAIS regulations, CASE guidelines for development accounts as well as school policies and procedures.
  • Develops database policies, procedures and best practices that allow for accurate, timely reporting on fundraising efforts both by the purpose for which the gift is given and the method by which the gift is obtained.
  • Partner with the Business Office to ensure accurate reconciliation and strong interdepartmental relationship. Manage the compliance and ethical standards of the Advancement Services department.
  • Oversee a systematic and integrated donor relations and stewardship program that encompasses donor recognition events, celebrations, and potential naming dedications. Responsible for consistent, accurate, and appropriate information-sharing mechanisms for stewarding prospects and donors. Proactively support the stewardship responsibilities of the Advancement staff by assisting them in establishing and coordinating individualized stewardship plans for donors to their areas of interest.
  • Develop and execute prospecting strategies to provide prospect pipelines for Major and Planned Gifts, as well as strategies to best utilize our data for marketing purposes – partnering closely with the marketing, events and annual giving team members to coordinate on their data needs.
  • Develop and implement strategy for tracking major gift fundraising work in Raiser’s Edge, in collaboration with fundraising team members.
  • In partnership with staff, set goals and implement annual and longer-range performance metrics for measuring success in the Advancement Services program.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
