The Opportunity:

The Database Administrator II (Database Developer) will act as the primary owner and subject matter expert for the department's enterprise data mart, advising on optimal table structures, maintaining data integrity, and extending the data mart and data warehouse. Responsibilities include writing optimized queries and stored procedures in support of enterprise platforms such as SSRS and Tableau. Utilizes the Blackbaud CRM SQL-based software development kit to support customizations that maximize CRM usability. Participates in code reviews for others on the team, as well as requirements gathering and technical or training documentation in support of new initiatives.

This position offers a hybrid remote work option with supervisory approval.

Responsibilities:

Oversees the design, development, and maintenance of the Advancement enterprise data mart and the BBCRM data warehouse in support of Advancement's long-term business intelligence strategy. Ensures optimal structure, integrity, and usability of these resources.

Writes optimized SQL queries and stored procedures in support of enterprise reporting platforms. Supports the design, coding, testing, and debugging of SQL views, procedures, and other database objects including providing SQL code reviews for other members of the team.

Primary contributor to the design, configuration, and usability of Blackbaud CRM by utilizing Blackbaud's SQL-based software development kit to support data access and reporting data layer. Assists in strengthening the CRM user experience related to data access and efficient user navigation. Stays abreast of BBCRM updates and new functionality.

Supports data integration interfaces between various campus applications and the primary CRM utilizing software and custom-developed software, including SSIS packages and the CRM's SDK.

Ensures accurate and thorough technical documentation of business standards and business processes. Contributes to the development of technical specifications for projects.

Interfaces with Business Analysts and other members of the team to support opportunities for system improvement. Assists in identifying solutions to business process needs, either internally or via external resources. May participate in meetings and campus committees related to job functions as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Extensive experience as a SQL developer and expertise in designing and maintaining data warehouses and enterprise data marts.

Familiarity with Tableau or other business intelligence platforms.

Knowledge of Constituent Relationship Management software/applications and their structure, with the ability to navigate and retrieve accurate data from a CRM system.

Skill in understanding and translating business needs and requirements into technical implementations.

Ability to effectively communicate, handle multiple priorities, and the pressure of deadlines.

Experience in Advancement or a related field such as higher education, non-profits, marketing, or sales.
