Position Summary: The Development Associate serves a crucial Advancement role in the day-to-day processes of the Development Office. This position is responsible for gift processing and data entry as well as some reporting and data extraction. The role has the potential for growth as the organization embarks on a multi-year Capital Campaign and continues to grow their Annual Giving efforts. The ideal candidate thrives on accuracy and organization, loves working with data, is familiar with general database operations, and has proficiency with language (spelling and grammar) and numbers.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Enter donations and donor data into The Raiser’s Edge database in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Import donation and donor data from external systems and review the imported batches for proper coding and entry.
  • Scan and maintain electronic backups for all donations.
  • Configure, maintain, and process monthly, quarterly, and annual recurring donations.
  • Prepare acknowledgement letters regularly, and other mailings on an as needed basis.
  • Assist on site with fundraising events, as needed.
  • Complete other data cleanup and maintenance projects as needed.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Experience with CRM software required; experience with The Raiser’s Edge preferred.
  • Significant experience with MS Office products, including proficiency with Word and Excel; and strong computer skills.
  • Candidate must have extreme attention to detail and accuracy as well as the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work with donor and guest information with exceptional accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Development/Philanthropy experience preferred.

Physical Demands

  1. Sits/stands at desk 90% of the day
  2. Near visual acuity essential for computer related work
  3. Hearing and speaking essential for telephone communication
  4. Able to lift and transport up to 25 lbs
  5. Physically able to climb stairs and perform tasks as needed
