Gift Amount vs. Additional Gift Amount in TR report?

Options

I am setting up a report in Report Writer using the TeamRaiser Gift Details report.

There are two columns in question for this report. I'm wondering who is being referenced: the Participant or the Donor?

The Gift Amount column appears to be referencing the transaction from the Donor. Meanwhile, the Additional Gift Amount…is that referencing the Participant by any chance? Meaning, no matter the Donor info, the “Addl Gift Amt” column in the attached screenshot will always read $50 because that is what Participant A did?

By going back and forth through TR as well as individual record's Transactions tab, that seems to be the case, but I can't say for sure. Does anyone know?

Edit: Wow. That image is not embedding well at all.

Yes, you are correct. The “Additional Gift Amount” column refers to the amount the participant donated during the initial registration in TeamRaiser.

There is a section within the Luminate Online Help that I wish was listed more prominently and is something that I always like to refer people to when they have questions about specific columns. Especially since some of the reports have hundreds of available columns that don't always make sense.

If you go to Report Writer > Create New Report > Choose a report type … at the end of the description for each specific report are two links: View Sample & Learn More. If you choose Learn More, the Luminate Online Help will open (likely in a new tab) and one of the options on that page is to view the Report Columns. Clicking that will take you to a page that lists the available report columns and typically a description of what that column is pulling. Full disclosure, I don't know how often this is updated (maybe never), this won't include any custom fields in your instance and not every column has a description/useful description. It's a great place to start, though.

For reference, here is a link to this page for your specific report:

    Hope this helps!
