Putting it together

Options

I am getting a better handle on the campaign but still feel a little over my skis. I have written some text, included here as well as the call for video submissions script that I want to include in the but I do not know where to place it.

The campaign is called Did you know... It will be a call out for video submissions on what you know about substance abuse, as well as, and this is more important sharing that information via ecard and getting others interested.

I am thinking about labeling the first email Psssst...pass it on...

Will there be some time to individually talk these types of things out with someone who understands the flow of the campaign better?

Thanks, Jessica

  • I like the title of Psst...Pass it On.

With regard to Frank's letter: "We are looking for short video entries and comments of what you know about youth substance addiction, we want meaningful stories, real life experiences or just raw facts." For this, I would suggest invovling the donor by using lots of "you" words, and stress how it benefits THEM by doing this video, as well as benefiting other addicts. Also, raw facts will not work if they are not part of a story about a person. People are much more likely to give if you write a short blurb about one or two people's stories - they relate to a person, not facts.

This is really great content Jessica --

Beginning to sketch out your campaign theme and narrative this way is helping you head in the right direction -- and the question you implicitly posed is the right "next" question:

Where are you going to place this content for it to be most effective?

    Answer:

Within the online model/template that we are using to create this campaign there are the following core elements:

    1) Number One: Landing page where your constituents can sign up

    2) Number Two: eCard page where users can spread the message

    3) Number Three: Email campaign (houses the email messages that we will be sending out)

Additionally, for what you are describing here -- it sounds like you are also going to need to have two extra components -- (1) a way for your constituents to send you a video file and (2) we should probably create an extra page of content on your site (can do this in Convio PageBuilder) that serves as an initial thank you page after they fill out the first entry survey. When the user fills out the initial form we TYPICALLY would send them straight to the eCard page -- but for this campaign I think it will make sense for them to land on a thank you page with two VERY CLEAR choices -- a link to provide their own video, and another link that drives them to the eCard page where they can spread the word and send the eCard out to their friends. We'll want those two options to be very clear -- when we are creating your campaign in Convio we can use some of the content (some of the data and stats that you've got) on the initial thank you page that follows them filling out the first form.

Hope my description makes sense Jessica. When you are filling out the guide, please fill free to put the content you've got here in the "narrative" section and then provide any extra instructions you want to include in the "other instructions" section. As we produce the campaign we can follow up with you if we have any specific questions.

    talk soon,

    Adam

ps... also, important for everyone to know --- if you are participating in the Convio Housefile Building Service Module and you'd like to speak with Taylor or I in a 1x1 phone call, please send us an email and we will schedule a quick phone call at a time that works so that we can touch base on the phone. I realize that sometimes it's just easier to talk about an idea than to try and describe complex campaign concepts in a community post. Our consulting team can only offer this 1x1 phone time to organizations that are participating in the Convio Service Module.
