eCard copy questions

We wanted ours to have the eCard include a pledge for people to take but the wording didn't get included. Is that because there wasn't room, or you thought it would work better without it?

  • Hi Dale,

You can list that along with any other changes that you'd like for us to make when you send in list of changes... in terms of how we typically build the eCard -- we normally don't include the pledge text there. As you mention it can be hard to fit all of the pledge text on the eCard (depending on the wording of your pledge text)... so we typically use the eCard as a simple tell a friend opp that then links the reader back to the site where they can read the full pledge text. all of that said, we can certainly add the pledge text to the eCard message (I'm looking at your campaign now and it looks like you've already been making some changes on your own).

Hope this helps -- talk soon,

We can't find any materials that show or link to the pledge wording - is this live somewhere? We thought (as seen in the pledge samples Convio posted), that if they click on a link to Take the Pledge, they would see what the pledge was, and sign there and then get the eCard pop-up. What are we missing?

    Hi Dale,

Because you are doing a give-away campaign we actually had not set up an additional pledge page. All of the links we have included in your campaign messages and eCards link to the "Enter to Win" page that allows people to sign up for the flip cam. The URL to the give-away sign up page is: http://tmmc.convio.net/site/PageServer?pagename=2010_entry_page

What are you looking to do with a pledge in addition to the give-away entry? I think adding a separate pledge page to the mix could confuse your consituents. Maybe, instead, what you want to do is incorporate the pledge into the give-away. For example, "Pledge to stop trashing our oceans and be entered into a drawing for a FREE flip cam..." It's kind of like what you already have in the title of the give-away entry page. Maybe you just want to add a little more text to that entry page about what the pledge entails? Maybe add some details about why it is important to take the pledge? Please include any of those revisions in your list that you send over to us.
