Event Sponsor to recieve membership

Hi,

We give our event sponsors (usually corporations) a number of individual memberships to our org. The sponsorship is going towards our event fund, not the membership fund. When we attempted to link the individual memberships to the corp gift I was not able to post them to FE because it assumes it is a membership gift and we have no membership gl associated with the event fund.

Does anyone have a similar situation how do you handle?

I would consider using appeals and packages for memberships--then you can attach them to any fund and also include any kind of benefits that might be received with membership.

Sounds like you'll have to make those GL links for the event fund regardless though!
