Anyway to filter the advocacy RSS feed?

Options

We would like to use the advocacy RSS feed, but find that it doesn't quite suit our purpose, as it can contain things we don't necessarily want showing up there. So it would be nice to be able to filter it based in any number of ways.

Possible?

  • Your best option would probably be to run it through pipes.yahoo.com and filter it in whatever way you want.

    That's a good thought, thanks.

Alas, looking at the RSS - it does not really like there is much to filter on in the feed itself:

None of the associated issues, priority, nor which center the action might have come out of. Things like number of signers would be a bonus. Of course some of those would not fit too well into your standard RSS setup, but issues at least and center could map into a categories fields.

    Adrian,

One option would be to create a PageBuilder page, insert the Alert List component using a filter by issue. Then, use Yahoo Pipes to scrape the page and turn it into an RSS feed. Alternatively, you could use some kind of key in the action alert's description (e.g. |healthcare|) and look for that in the Advocacy feed.
